A football competition was held involving the International Stream: Secondary classes (Years 7-10) was held at MTK School named in honour of Heydar Aliyev on 2nd November 2018.  Students and staff enjoyed beautiful weather on the day and even though participation was not compulsory, almost every Secondary student chose to take part in mixed teams.

Years 7-8 and Years 9-10 were divided into two separate competitions and the matches began.  We used these charts to track the results as the competition progressed and to record which of the teams were coming out at the top of their groups!

Teachers all helped to referee the games, to encourage the children and to arrange the rolling substitutes since each squad had around nine players but the matches were six or seven-a-side.  Overall it was a great team effort and football, friendship and team spirit was the overall winner!

The students played brilliantly, learned teamwork skills, encouraged one another and thoroughly enjoyed the matches!

The Red and Yellow teams met in the final of the Year 7-8 competition and the Green and Blue teams met in the final of the Year 9-10 competition. There was a  friendly, respectful atmosphere during the final matches.  Congratulations to the Red & Yellow teams who were joint winners of an exciting Year 7-8 final that ended 3-3. Congratulations also to the Blue team who snatched a 1-0 win in the Year 9-10 final.
